Write three usable texts from one source ledger.

Draft for three readers with distinct needs

Use the fictional Borgofaro dossier in stop 05. First make a source ledger of five claims: planned opening, bench location, panel, notebook status and unknown visitor response. Then write three separate Italian texts, all dated the day before the planned opening. (1) A 120–150-word pre-opening notice for prospective visitors: practical opening information and a plain notebook status. (2) A 230–280-word internal editorial note for the project team: correct the false «già» title, the attributed bench move, the notebook display claim and the invented visitor praise; explain the source for each correction. (3) A 170–210-word decision brief for whoever will consider future notebook display: distinguish discovery, present custody, Nadia’s personal concern and the question still open. Do not invent a decision-maker, policy, vote or date.

  • Avviso: «Domani aprirà la sala di lettura».· Notice: “The reading room will open tomorrow.”
  • Nota editoriale: «Il titolo anticipa un risultato non osservato».· Editorial note: “The title predicts an unobserved result.”
  • Brief: «La lettera di Nadia è una preoccupazione personale».· Brief: “Nadia’s letter is a personal concern.”
  • Brief: «L’esposizione resta da decidere».· Brief: “Display remains to be decided.”

Audit each transformation and write a rationale

Add a 100–130-word author’s rationale after the three texts. Quote one sentence that you changed for audience and explain why the change did not alter certainty. Identify one source detail omitted as irrelevant, one uncertainty retained, and one unsupported claim removed. In the public notice prefer short direct syntax; in the internal note use explicit attribution and a colon or concessive clause only when it clarifies the relation; in the decision brief mark proposals as proposals. Read all three versions side by side: if one says «sarà esposto» and another says «non è deciso», repair the contradiction. Check punctuation, register, agency, future time and pragmatic implications.

  • Ho omesso il titolo provvisorio nell’avviso: non serve al visitatore.· I omitted the provisional title from the notice: visitors do not need it.
  • Ho mantenuto «per ora» e ho chiarito che non è una promessa.· I kept “for now” and clarified that it is not a promise.
  • Ho eliminato un giudizio sui visitatori non ancora verificabile.· I removed an unverified judgement about visitors.
  • Le tre versioni differiscono nel dettaglio, non nel fatto.· The three versions differ in detail, not in fact.
