Edit a deliberately flawed brief
This is a deliberately flawed draft, not a report of events: «Il rapporto di Elena, che il comitato ha approvato, mostra che undici diciottesimi dei cittadini desiderano le aperture e che le tre serate, avendo prodotto nuovi lettori, giustificano i novecento euro spesi». Rewrite it as a 130–170-word Italian brief. Correct four errors: the committee has not voted; the eleven are among eighteen voluntary comments, not citizens sampled; no evenings or new readers have been measured; €900 is an estimate, not money spent. Preserve one relative and one conditional clause only where they clarify the claim.
- Il rapporto che Elena ha firmato descrive una proposta.· The report that Elena signed describes a proposal.
- Il comitato ha esaminato il rapporto, ma non ha votato.· The committee examined the report but did not vote.
- Undici dei diciotto commenti volontari sono favorevoli.· Eleven of the eighteen voluntary comments are favourable.
- La cifra di novecento euro è una stima.· The figure of nine hundred euros is an estimate.
Leave an auditable revision log
After the brief, write four numbered revision notes in Italian: original claim, correction, and reason. In the brief itself, put the decision sequence before the proposed observation: checks and vote first; only if approved, three July Thursday evenings and Chiara’s possible entry count and optional visitor feedback. End with a bounded inference: such a count could describe recorded use but not establish a lasting causal effect. Read the result aloud. Where a pronoun or ellipsis has two possible referents, repeat the noun.
- Qualora il comitato approvi la prova, Chiara conterà gli ingressi.· If the committee approves the trial, Chiara will count entries.
- Il conteggio non includerebbe chi non visita la biblioteca.· The count would not include those who do not visit the library.
- Ho sostituito «cittadini» con «commenti volontari».· I replaced “citizens” with “voluntary comments”.
- Ripeto «comitato» per evitare un soggetto ambiguo.· I repeat “committee” to avoid an ambiguous subject.
