Turn research into a briefing

Set up a fictional library study with a careful conclusion.

The decision and two sources

In fictional Pontechiaro, the library added fifteen quiet-study tables. The council may extend the trial for two months. Researcher Giada has two sources: entry logs for four Tuesdays before and four after the change, always from 16:00 to 18:00, and a short questionnaire. A briefing must state each source and its limit before a recommendation.

  • La biblioteca ha aggiunto quindici tavoli per lo studio.· The library added fifteen study tables.
  • Il consiglio valuta una prova di altri due mesi.· The council is considering a further two-month trial.
  • I registri contano gli accessi, non le persone distinte.· The logs count entries, not distinct people.
  • Il questionario raccoglie opinioni, non misure del rumore.· The questionnaire gathers opinions, not noise measurements.

A brief summary with necessary limits

The four earlier Tuesdays total 160 entries; the four later Tuesdays total 200, a difference of forty entries. Eighteen of twenty-five people approached returned a form; twelve said the space was easier to use. No comparison group, unique-user count, or noise measurement proves that the tables caused the difference. Compression must not remove these limits.

  • Confrontando i registri, Giada ha trovato quaranta accessi in più.· Comparing the logs, Giada found forty more entries.
  • Dopo aver letto i moduli, ha separato opinioni e conteggi.· After reading the forms, she separated opinions and counts.
  • Dodici rispondenti hanno descritto un uso più facile dello spazio.· Twelve respondents described easier use of the space.
  • Senza un gruppo di confronto, la causa resta incerta.· Without a comparison group, the cause remains uncertain.
