Resolve the problem
Develop solving problems together through a focused speaking itinerary.
Speaking task
Record a 90–120 second two-part service role-play about fictional order LC-482. First speak informally to your housemate Paolo: ask him for the two damage photos and tell him not to move the cracked shade. Then take both roles in a formal follow-up call between Elena and agent Sara. Confirm the approved replacement shade, ask whether 17 May is dispatch or delivery, request written instructions for the damaged part, and end with the next step. Use one attached informal command and two combined-pronoun groups in the formal call. Do not promise a delivery date the agent did not give.
- Paolo, scatta le foto e mandamele.· Paolo, take the photos and send them to me.
- Non spostare il paralume incrinato.· Do not move the cracked shade.
- Il numero d'ordine? Me lo conferma, per favore?· The order number? Can you confirm it for me, please?
- Le istruzioni? Me le può inviare per email?· The instructions? Can you email them to me?
Performance and self-check
Plan the informal request, the formal opening, the approved action, and the remaining question. Replay your recording: can a listener tell which speaker uses tu and which uses Lei? Check that each lo, la, or le has a clear referent. State that 17 May is the planned dispatch date and that the damaged part stays with Elena until instructions arrive. Repeat without a full script.
- Gliela spediamo il 17 maggio.· We will send it to you on 17 May.
- È la data di spedizione, non quella di consegna.· It is the dispatch date, not the delivery date.
- Me le mandi quando sono pronte, per favore.· Please send them to me when they are ready.
- Conservi il paralume finché non riceve le istruzioni.· Please keep the shade until you receive the instructions.
