Holiday itinerary

Develop plans and weather through a focused writing itinerary.

Writing task

Write a 110–130 word weekend itinerary in Italian for a friend visiting Lecce. State how and when you will arrive, choose two Saturday activities, choose one Sunday morning activity, and give an indoor alternative for Sunday afternoon rain. Include the meeting place and at least three exact times from the programme. Distinguish fixed times («il mercato apre alle nove») from your own future decisions («visiteremo il museo»).

  • Domani lavorerò da casa.· Tomorrow I will work from home.
  • L’anno prossimo visiteremo la Sicilia.· Next year we will visit Sicily.
  • Domani parto alle sette.· Tomorrow I leave at seven. (fixed arrangement)
  • Stasera ceniamo con Marta.· Tonight we are having dinner with Marta. (arranged)

Revision checklist

Check that your friend can follow the schedule without guessing a time or place. Underline three future forms and two present forms used for fixed events. Check the forecast against Sunday’s outdoor plan. Use clear day labels and time words, then check spelling and punctuation.

  • Il treno parte alle 18:20.· The train leaves at 18:20. (schedule)
  • Sabato lavoro fino a mezzogiorno.· On Saturday I work until midday. (known schedule)
  • Domani farà più caldo.· Tomorrow it will be warmer. (prediction)
  • Ti chiamerò appena arrivo.· I will call you as soon as I arrive. (promise)
