Practical instruction note

Develop health and services through a focused writing itinerary.

Writing task

Your English-speaking friend will visit an Italian pharmacy for the first time. Write a 90–110 word Italian note with practical service steps: check opening hours, take a number, show a prescription if they have one, explain the question to the pharmacist, and ask for help with unclear package instructions. Use at least four formal commands for a general visitor. Do not give a dose or a personal treatment plan.

  • Controlli gli orari della farmacia.· Check the pharmacy opening hours. (formal)
  • Prenda un numero e aspetti il suo turno.· Take a number and wait for your turn. (formal)
  • Mostri la ricetta se ne ha una.· Show the prescription if you have one. (formal)
  • Spieghi la domanda al farmacista.· Explain the question to the pharmacist. (formal)

Revision checklist

Check that the steps are in a useful order and that the reader knows whom to ask. Underline formal imperatives such as «controlli», «prenda», «mostri», and «chieda». Keep the polite Lei form throughout. Do not copy a sample dosage; actual medicine instructions must come from the current leaflet and a qualified professional.

  • Legga il foglio illustrativo.· Read the package leaflet. (formal)
  • Non usi questo prodotto.· Do not use this product. (formal)
  • Chieda aiuto se qualcosa non è chiaro.· Ask for help if something is not clear. (formal)
  • Porti la confezione quando torna in farmacia.· Bring the package when you return to the pharmacy. (formal)
