Practical email

Develop everyday choices through a focused writing itinerary.

Writing task

Write a polite 90–110 word email to the household shop. Ask it to reserve one three-pack of PiccolaCasa boxes and one single box for Luca. State that four boxes are needed for a narrow shelf, ask it to confirm the €29 total and current stock, and say that you will collect the order tomorrow. Use «ne» for the number of boxes and «ci» for the shop. Include a clear subject line and your name.

  • Vorrei prenotare una confezione da tre e una scatola singola.· I would like to reserve one three-pack and one single box.
  • Me ne servono quattro per uno scaffale stretto.· I need four of them for a narrow shelf.
  • Può confermare il prezzo totale di ventinove euro?· Can you confirm the total price of twenty-nine euros?
  • Ci vengo domani a ritirare l’ordine.· I will come there tomorrow to collect the order.

Revision checklist

Check that the shop can reserve the exact product and quantity. Underline «ne» and «ci» and write the noun or place each replaces. Check the arithmetic (€21 + €8 = €29), the pickup day, the polite request, and the subject line. Remove any travel details that do not help the shop fulfil the order.

  • Oggetto: prenotazione di quattro scatole PiccolaCasa· Subject: reservation of four PiccolaCasa boxes
  • Ce ne sono ancora quattro disponibili?· Are four of them still available?
  • Ci verrò domani per ritirarle.· I will come there tomorrow to collect them.
  • Cordiali saluti, Luca· Kind regards, Luca
