Make a practical decision

Develop everyday choices through a focused speaking itinerary.

Speaking task

You are Luca at the household shop. Speak with the assistant for 60–90 seconds. Say that you need four boxes for a narrow shelf, compare PiccolaCasa with GrandeCasa, ask about stock and collection, and choose the three-pack plus one single box. Confirm the €29 total. Use «ne» to refer to the boxes or their quantity and «ci» to refer to the shop. The assistant must know exactly what to prepare for you.

  • Mi servono quattro scatole piccole.· I need four small boxes.
  • Ce ne sono ancora quattro in negozio?· Are there still four of them in the shop?
  • Prendo una confezione da tre e una scatola singola.· I will take a pack of three and one single box.
  • Ci vado domani e le ritiro di persona.· I will go there tomorrow and collect them in person.

Performance and self-check

Keep only the product sizes, prices, and stock as notes. Record the exchange. Check that the assistant can repeat the product, quantity, €29 total, and pickup plan. Repeat without reading. Check that «ne» refers to boxes and «ci» refers to the shop, not to the price.

  • La confezione da tre costa ventuno euro.· The pack of three costs twenty-one euros.
  • Una scatola singola costa otto euro.· One single box costs eight euros.
  • Il totale è ventinove euro.· The total is twenty-nine euros.
  • Ci sono cinque scatole singole in negozio.· There are five single boxes in the shop.
