Present a place in detail

Guide visitors through a fictional building with precise language.

Two-minute main-floor route

You are a guide at the fictional Casa dei Binari. Give a two-minute Italian introduction to adult visitors, including one person who cannot use steps. Start at the ramp, identify the central hall with twelve arches, the east glass exhibition room, and the west reading room. Describe one sensory impression as your view rather than a measurement. Use che, a preposition plus cui, and one correctly agreed il quale form. State that the raised terrace has six steps and no alternative route stated in the visit.

  • Entriamo dalla rampa che porta al piano principale.· We enter by the ramp that leads to the main floor.
  • La sala in cui ci troviamo conserva dodici archi.· The hall in which we are preserves twelve arches.
  • La stanza vetrata, la quale ospita la mostra, è a est.· The glass room, which holds the exhibition, is to the east.
  • La luce mi sembra intensa; non è un dato misurato.· The light seems intense to me; that is not a measured value.

Respond to an access question

A visitor asks whether the whole centre is step-free. Answer in 30 seconds: explain that the ramp serves the main floor, the raised terrace has six steps, and no alternative route is given in the case. Offer the main-floor route without claiming to solve the terrace limit. Repeat your introduction with fewer notes and check each spatial reference.

  • Il piano principale è raggiungibile dalla rampa.· The main floor can be reached by the ramp.
  • La terrazza rialzata, invece, ha sei gradini.· The raised terrace, by contrast, has six steps.
  • Non risulta un percorso alternativo per la terrazza.· No alternative route is stated for the terrace.
  • Possiamo visitare la sala degli archi, la mostra e la sala di lettura.· We can visit the hall of arches, the exhibition, and the reading room.
