Materials and spatial terms
Learn la facciata (façade), i mattoni (bricks), l’arco (arch), la stanza vetrata (glass room), la biglietteria (ticket office), and la terrazza rialzata (raised terrace). Use east and west to place the rooms. Each term should identify something that exists in the fictional building, not an imagined addition.
- La facciata conserva i mattoni originali.· The façade preserves the original bricks.
- Dodici archi attraversano la sala centrale.· Twelve arches cross the central hall.
- La stanza vetrata si trova a est.· The glass room is to the east.
- L’ex biglietteria è diventata una sala di lettura.· The former ticket office became a reading room.
Sensory language with limits
Use la luce (light), l’ombra (shade), l’eco (echo), il riflesso (reflection), and la sensazione (sensation). Pair subjective words with mi sembra or ho avvertito. The review reports no measured light, sound, or temperature values. Do not replace a perception with a false technical finding.
- La luce del pomeriggio attraversa il vetro.· Afternoon light passes through the glass.
- Gli archi producono ombre sul pavimento.· The arches cast shadows on the floor.
- Nella sala centrale si sente un’eco.· An echo can be heard in the central hall.
- Ho avvertito una sensazione di caldo, ma non ho misurato la temperatura.· I felt warm, but I did not measure the temperature.
