Institutions, production and procedures

Use the words needed to explain the paper process precisely.

Production vocabulary

Learn la materia prima (raw material), il lotto (batch), la selezione (sorting), l’impasto (pulp), l’essiccazione (drying), and la rilegatura (binding). Put the nouns in the right process order. The finished notebook is not the same as the paper collected at school.

  • La carta usata è la materia prima.· Used paper is the raw material.
  • Un lotto contiene materiale raccolto e registrato.· A batch contains collected and recorded material.
  • Dopo la selezione si prepara l’impasto.· After sorting, the pulp is prepared.
  • L’essiccazione precede la rilegatura dei quaderni.· Drying comes before notebook binding.

Procedure and institutional roles

Learn la procedura interna (internal procedure), il controllo a campione (sample check), la scheda (record sheet), il rilascio interno (internal release), and il rapporto mensile (monthly report). The cooperative’s quality group checks samples and releases batches. The municipal office receives a report; receiving it does not mean it certifies the notebooks.

  • La procedura interna P-4 richiede una scheda per ogni lotto.· The internal P-4 procedure requires a record sheet for each batch.
  • Il controllo a campione riguarda cinque fogli.· The sample check covers five sheets.
  • Il rilascio interno precede la distribuzione.· Internal release comes before distribution.
  • Il rapporto mensile viene inviato all’ufficio comunale.· The monthly report is sent to the municipal office.
