Use che without a preposition

Use che to join a noun to a clause when that noun is the subject or direct object inside the new clause. Che does not change for singular, plural, masculine, or feminine nouns. Find the noun it refers to before choosing the relative form.

Use cui after a preposition

When the noun needs a preposition in the relative clause, keep that preposition before cui: con cui, a cui, di cui, per cui. Compare «la coordinatrice con cui lavoravo» with «la coordinatrice che mi aiutava». Do not write con che for this standard form.
