Writing task
Write a 180–220 word post for your film club’s online forum after watching the fictional film La luce in piazza. Readers have seen the film but have not read your view. Give a title, state your overall opinion, describe two precise scenes, explain one strength and one weakness, and say who would enjoy the film. Respond fairly to the claim that the neighbours change their minds too quickly. Use one present and one past subjunctive in your evaluation.
- Credo che il finale sia efficace perché ogni vicino porta qualcosa.· I think the ending works because each neighbour brings something.
- Mi sorprende che gli autori abbiano dato così poco spazio al ragazzo.· I am surprised the writers gave the young man so little time.

Revision checklist
Underline two scene details and check that each supports a judgement. Distinguish the film’s events from your opinion about them. Check subject–verb agreement after che, the present and past subjunctive, a respectful response to a different view, and a final recommendation for a clear audience.
