Future simple

Develop plans and weather through a focused grammar itinerary.

The future simple

Use futuro semplice for plans, predictions, and events after now. Regular endings are -ò, -ai, -à, -emo, -ete, -anno. The endings are the same for all verb groups.

  • Domani lavorerò da casa.· Tomorrow I will work from home.

  • Domani parto alle sette.· Tomorrow I leave at seven. (fixed arrangement)
  • Stasera ceniamo con Marta.· Tonight we are having dinner with Marta. (arranged)

Form, meaning, and contrast

Compare the second set of models. Identify the contrast in meaning, then check verb form, agreement, pronoun position, and the logical relation before you produce a new sentence.

  • Il treno parte alle 18:20.· The train leaves at 18:20. (schedule)
  • Sabato lavoro fino a mezzogiorno.· On Saturday I work until midday. (known schedule)
  • Domani farà più caldo.· Tomorrow it will be warmer. (prediction)
